The Heart of our concept The 1975
This September, our long-awaited centerpiece finally arrives: a custom 1975 wood-burning pit from the renowned Workhorse Pits in Georgia. Due to global demand, we’ve spent the last four months eagerly awaiting its fabrication, and we couldn't be more excited to bring it home to Chiba.
Nestled on our small farm in the rural landscape of Kujukuri—just a stone’s throw from the beach—this will be the permanent home for our pit. It is the perfect environment to master the craft of long, slow cooks. We’ve already sourced a premium supply of local oak and are preparing everything to fire it up.
While our future plans include putting the pit on a trailer to bring our BBQ to festivals and shows across the region, our immediate focus is getting the fires burning right here at the farm. We are thrilled to officially launch the full City Diner experience, featuring the very best of low-and-slow, locally raised Wagyu beef.
"We are proud to introduce the Workhorse 1975 to Japan—an uncompromising, professional-grade offset smoker that brings the authentic soul of Central Texas barbecue to our local culinary scene. Handcrafted in Georgia, USA, from massive 3/8-inch thick steel and engineered using advanced fluid dynamics, this is a master-class in thermal stability and airflow. Whether you are perfecting a brisket or exploring new 'farm-to-pit' techniques, the 1975 provides the precision, consistency, and legendary smoke quality required to elevate the art of low-and-slow cooking. Built to last a lifetime, this is more than just a smoker; it is a serious tool for those who demand nothing less than perfection."
